LifeLike Productions inc and executive producers Jude Gerard Prest and David Thies have just completed production on a one hour comedy television special called: "Mayor Dog" for Animal Planet. It is a funny, quirky special that is based on my film: Rabbit Hash: The Center of the Universe which tells the bizarre but charmingly true story of a small Kentucky town that elected a DOG named GOOFY as its mayor!.
The comedy TV special is written and directed by Jude Gerard Prest (Rabbit Hash: Center of the Universe) and picks up where the film left off by following the town's most recently elected mayor JUNIOR (ANOTHER DOG!) during a typical day in his life. The strapping black lab was voted into office in November 2004 to coincide with the presidential elections.
MAYOR DOG follows a look at the day in the life of this popular dog mayor as he sets out on a "GOODWILL RV TOUR" to raise awareness for a number of real causes...both human and animal.
The special is narrated by the very funny Ben Stein and is expected to premiere sometime in early 2006.
After a successful and VERY
successfully reviewed One week exclusive engagement at the Los Angeles
Flagship Theaters, Rabbit Hash (The Center of the Universe) is gaining
momentum and recognition. The filmmakers, along with our Distributor
(Echelon Entertainment) are working hard to get a wider theatrical
release and have retained the services of a top LA public relations
firm, Anthony Mora Communications, to help get a grass roots effort
going to get this film into
more and more theaters and on people's minds. Just when you thought
politics couldn't get any crazier...We've got a film that proves it
can!
